Cuba is going through a transitional period. President Obama ended more than 50 years of diplomatic isolation towards the end of 2014. I was fortunate enough to visit Cuba on two occasions before and after this time. I walked the suburbs on my second visit photographing the people I encountered and found in them a sense of optimism. The thing that strikes you about Cuba and Cubans is how friendly they are, their openness, their calmness, but also the sense you get of a place that is frozen in time.
Now President Trump is reversing the Obama administration policies of travel and business with Cuba I wonder what effect this will have on the future of the country
